Growth Steadily

The week closed with a batch of freshly updated KRs. It made me think of the phrase “moving fast and slow at the same time”. Fast, because it feels like half the quarter is already gone. Slow, because I’m really only two weeks in :) Every update brings a new result, and a new lesson with it. Very much the startup spirit.

Yesterday, in the middle of a meditation, Insight Timer reminded me of my goal for 2026: “Growth Steadily”.

A reminder from Insight Timer.

At the start of the year, next to the goals with clear numbers, I set one more goal, for the mind. It is abstract and hard to measure. There were plenty of options, like happier or more explosive… I picked “steadily”: steady, solid.

Back then I was a bit uneasy about the future. I didn’t know how I would end the year happier, how I would be more explosive than last year, or even how I might fall. I stayed on “Growth Steadily” for a long while before I decided to choose it.

Even now, every time I meditate or look back, I still feel it was the right call. Because of it, I get to enjoy the journey.

Whether I fall, whether I have a few small wins, whether I go through a breakup, whether my family has conflicts, I keep going. I deal with things one at a time, and keep growing.

It doesn’t matter how much we grow, as long as we keep growing.
